MAF sensor. It is located on left side of engine compartment, in the air intake (pictured below)

inspection wrote i failed map sensor and two mechanics told me it's map sensor, but in hayes repair manual i found only maf sensor for altima (no mention of map sensor). on the ilustration you sent it also says absolute pressure sensor on the left side of the engine, where you said it should be maf sensor-i'm still confused...what altima has-map or maf sensor, or both.
thanks for your prompt reply.

? Vehicle should have both. MAP sensor is on engine air duct near the air cleaner and MAF sensor is on left side of engine compartment in the air intake. Sorry about that, confused myself. Removing both MAP and MAF sensors are both pretty simple procedures.

Haynes book may have the MAP sensor listed as the Absolute Pressure Sensor or the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor instead of using the acronym ?
