Hello guys. I just bought a 2001 Mercury Villager 147,000 miles. I just noticed when I accelerate hard to about 10-15 miles hr and release the gas pedal it shifts 2nd gear hard (like a clunk). If I drive it on the highway or around the city nothing seems to be wrong. It seems to only happen if I accelerate hard to around 10-15 miles hr and release the accelerator. Other than that there doesn't seem to be any other shifting problems including when the transmission downshifts.

I have the transmission fluid and filter changed and still have a problem. I need this van safe for me and my kids .

What would you recommend I do and what steps should I take to correct this problem? Thanks for your help

Please please help!!!

Something wrong in circuitry of pressure solenoid here is a guide to help you test the wiring and run the codes to confirm the issue.

Here is the wiring diagrams and a guide to help you check the wiring also I wanted to ask if the speedometer is working? If not replace the VSS that should fix it which is on the right side of the transmission.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find.
