the knob on the heater control is nodt working and it stays on hodt . the knob turns feely. dthe heated is on hot. what is wrong?

Does the knob feel like it is no longer attached to anything? IF so, check to see if there is a cable attached to the controler and make sure it is attached and not damaged.
