Hi Guys and Greetings from Aus - For some time now my Mazda Tribute has been faltering when under load at low revs,(1500 to just under 2000) in 4th gear. The problem is noticeable when driving on a slight incline, at about 70 to 80 kms per hour. The engine falters ( just like it is being starved of fuel), but if I accelerate, through 2000 rpm / change down, to 3rd gear the problem goes away. I've had 3 coil packs (which I was told were faulty) and all spark plugs replaced. The new coil packs were fitted to the rear of the engine and the remaining 3, which were tested as not being faulty, were fitted to the front of the engine, for easy access if they need replacing in future. All vacuum pipes were checked for leaks and one replaced. After all that, the problem persists. The front 3 coil packs were tested and I was told they are not faulty. Would appreciate your opinion on what to look for now. It is puzzling that the problem is not continous - only at low revs in 4th gear, under load - it's not noticeable driving on a level road. Cheers and look forward to your views. Rob
