where is the engine control module located on a 2001 kia sportage?

The engine control module is located under the dash on the passengers side here are diagrams to show you where. Check out the diagrams (Below) Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Computer problem
2000 Kia Sportage 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 138km miles
Motor seems to be running on 2 cyls. Changed wires,coils,plugs and still runs bad. Took it to Kia dealer and after $480.00, they said they can't figure out the problem and said it may be the ECM. Had a used ECM installed by another repair shop with no difference noted. Does the ECM have to be flashed by the dealer before it will work on my vehicle? HELP

Two things. First, was the used one the exact same part number as the original one? Also, does the car have the same exact problem?
