The battery will not stay charged in the jeep, the alternator is good. Can there be a short somewhere?

2001 Jeep Wrangler. We put a fully charged battery in the jeep and it dies within a few hours. The alternator is good from shown testing from autozone. Can there be an electrical shortage somewhere causing the battery to not stay charged.?

WAS THE ALTERNATOR TESTED ON THE JEEP OR OFF?

GOT A VOLTMETER? $5-$20 FOR A INEXPENSIVE DIGITAL ONE AT A PARTS STORE!

SET IT ON 12V DC(OR NEXT SETTING INCLUSIVE), TEST YOUR POS AND NEG BATTERY TERMINALS---WITH JEEP OFF

THEN FIRE HIM UP--EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO JUMP IT, REMOVE THE JUMPER CABLES....TEST AT BATTERY TERMINALS WHILE HE IS RUNNING

GIMME 2 RESULTS:

BATTERY-ENGINE OFF

BATTERY-ENGINE RUNNING

OR CAN YOU GET HIM TO THE PARTS STORE TO GET THESE TESTS DONE WITH YOUR JEEP ASSEMBLED?
