2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Oil Pressure gauge

Above 1000 RPM my oil pressure gauge reads 40, dropping below 1000 RPM, as when the car idles, the gauge drops to 20.....WHY. PS it is not because the engine needs oil.

That's perfectly normal. The pump is turning slower.
