Do you have an automatic or manual transmission? If it's a manual, the flywheel is pretty tough and hard to imagine it cracked around the center. I'd more likely expect to find the bolts sheared off, and even that would not be common.

These guides can help us fix it

Please run down these guides and report back.

My vehicle will not start. All the lights come on when you turn on the ignition over but nothing else happens. We check the battery and tried to jump it from the fuse box area.

Sounds like it may be a faulty starter motor if you properly boosted the battery. I would check the voltage of the battery first to ensure it is over twelve volts and does not drop below 9.6 volts while a second helper tries to start the vehicle.
Once the battery checks out you can look at the starter motor. The larger main cable at the starter should have battery voltage. The one wire connector (signal) should have battery voltage while the ignition is in the crank position.
It is also good practice to inspect the ground cables as a loose ground can cause a no start condition.

Daughter ran errands in the a.m. all was fine went home and then later the trooper would not start. There is a check engine light and a reduced power light. The car had a check engine light before this but was related to EGR valve. EGR was replaced and engine light went out but came back on. Now a reduced power light is on and the car will not start. Check battery it's ok. Hear a clicking by the starter but also read that it could be wiring harness. Can't pull codes because don't have equip and can't get it anywhere without being towed. Any suggestions on what to check.

So you have a crank no start?Or a no crank no start?A reduced performance light can disable a restart depending on the issue.your best bet is to get a code reader and see what codes you have. You have two choices get it towed to a shop and have them fix it.Or buy tools and try to fix it yourself.Getting the exact code numbers is your first step. You can do the basics check for spark actual fuel pressure and check injector pluse but if the computer is shutting it down or bad sensor your not going to know.Thats why i would see what codes it has first its best to have a scan tool that reads live engine data for diagnose. On amazon they have them for 50 something dollars.

Hi there,

you will have to check for power at the starter main terminal & the solenoid when on crank, if ok then starter is faulty. if no power at solenoid check starter relay.

So if you pull the alarm fuse does the battery still go dead?I have seen batterys test good and still not hold a charge. We need to do a parastic draw test to see where the draw is or even if you have excessive draw.

I pulled the fuse and jumped my battery but it acted like it wanted to start but it failed and i tryed to start it 2 more times after that and it just clicked as if there was no connection with the car jumping my battery. I didnt here the other truck kick down. Then i begin to smell burning wire on the drivers side. At that time i disconnected the cables and the battery post felt as if it had been running for hours. But it wasnt. I have begin to think mabey it may be my starter relay fuse under my dash or a wire that leads to my relay. Please help i cant afford to take it to a professional. Problem solving and determination is my key. Mom in need '0

The vehicle won't start. It slowly turned over and just acted as if it had a weak battery. At first i thought it needed a new battery. It's been about three years. I replaced the battery and it still won't crank over. I checked the battery and it appears fine. Help?

If the starter spins the engine very slowly, even with a new battery, there is very little in the circuit that can cause trouble. You'll need a cheap digital voltmeter and a helper to turn the ignition switch.

Start by measuring the voltage between the two battery posts while your helper cranks the engine. The industry standard is it must remain above at least 9.6 volts, but realistically, you should have 10 - 11 volts with a new battery. If it is too low, either the battery is run down or the starter is drawing too much current. Connect a large battery charger with an ammeter. First charge the battery for half an hour at te lowest rate, then crank the engine with the charger still connected and turned on. If it cranks normally, we need to test the charging system. If it still cranks too slowly, feel one of the large battery cables. If it is hot, or if the ammeter on the charger goes real high, the starter is drawing excessive current. Either the starter is partially shorted or, less likely, there is internal engine damage.

If the voltage at the battery posts, (not the cable clamps), remains fairly high, say around 11 volts or higher, and it still cranks too slowly, we have to hunt for a connection problem. That is done by moving the voltmeter probes to different places in the circuit.

Holler back when you've made these checks.

Was driving my car down the highway and the clutch stuck to the floor. Coasted to a stop. Had to get it towed home. Got opinions it was either master or slave cylinder, most likely slave cylinder. So we replaced the slave cylinder. Bled it out to get pressure in clutch. Car still wont start. Made a grinding noise at first. Sounded horrible. Coming from the engine. Now it doesn't grind but still wont start.
Not sure what the problem is.
Any help would be appreciated.

Was the slave cylinder fully extended like it was at full travel? Your description sounds like the clutch may need replacing as it isn't common for the slave to fail that way. Normally they just leak or the master cylinder fails.
Does the engine turn over okay, just not starting or does it do nothing when you try to start it?

This could be a number of things. First what is the vehicle doing now when you try to start it? You press the clutch in and does the engine crank over and not start or does it not do anything?

Here is a video that helps in general but let's get this info and go from there:

https://youtu.be/dCjmRL3p4Cs

With the grinding this sounds like a clutch issue but we need to start with the above and go from there. Thanks

Yes, it was fully extended and fell apart when we took the slave out. Car makes noise when trying to start but wont. First it was a horrible grinding noise. That noise went away and it turns over and tries to start but wont.

Being it was fully extended I suspect the clutch itself is the problem. Has it ever been replaced?

My trooper will not start. I can turn the key on and everything comes on. When I turn it to start the motor and press the clutch pedal the whole car goes dead, the stereo resets and the buzzer sounds like it's dying. Tried to jump it and that makes no difference. If I hold the key in the start position I can hear a relay clickin in my fuse panel but no start, no anything. Any ideas? Thank you for your support.

That sounds like the starter is shorting out. You can trouble shoot by giving the starter a couple bangs with a tire rench. if that works, you need to repare or replace your starter.

Check to make sure the battery terminals are clean and tight. It sounds like you are losing the connection under a heavy load. Remove the terminals, clean both the battery post and terminals. Also, make sure the ground to the engine block is tight and clean. Keep in mind, make sure the cables are in good condition.

check the battery connections. make sure they clean and free of corrosion. check the ground and make sure its secure and clean too.

if thats good check the connections on starter relay and starter to make sure they are tight and clean.

try jumping the starter relay. will starter engage and crank or does it just click?

if so starter might be bad.

When I turn the key over to try and start my truck it doesn't start, and the only type of noise it makes is a single click. Before this happened, it would take a little while to start my truck, but it was turning over everytime. My question is what could this be and is it very hard to fix?

Double check the battery and connections if okay start checking the following , starter, starter relay, park/neutral switch and ignition switch.

Or do this-hold key in cranking position and bang on the starter if it cranks over have it checked out.
