2001 Infiniti QX Truck wont start after running

My qx4 will start fine if it has been sitting for at least a few hours. In the last week if I go run an errand and then come back out to the truck it typically will not start. It cranks and cranks but will not actually start. I have to leave it setting until it cools down enough to start.

check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it, may not be giving enough when hot and scan for codes , check crank and cam sensors.

If it is crank or cam sensor will it definitely throw a code? Because as of right now the check engine light has not come on. Could it be fuel filter?

a lot of times a crank sensor especially will be bad/on verge of and not throw a code. I doubt it 's a fuel filter even though it probably has never been changed more likely a pump that is why you check pressure with a gauge fp should be 43 w/o vacuum and 34 w/vacuum
