Engine will not exceed 2,000 rpm's?

So far it's been narrowed down to the "coolant temp sensor" as the cause of the problem. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Where is this sensor located on the engine?

scan for codes check fuel pressure with a gauge auto parts rent it and check for a vacuum leak. see pic for coolant temp location.....

The first thing I would do is change out the fuel filter, here is the location. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
