2001 Honda Odyssey Engine hard to start.

Have you checked fuel pump pressure? Is the check engine light on?

The check engine light is not light up even when I turn the key on. The fuel pump is new.

Have you confirmed the fuel pressure is within the manufacturer's specs? Are you getting a good hot blue snapping spark to the plugs?

Ok! I just confirmed that fuel pump is working ok. Pressurize 46 psi.
The spark coils are strong too. but still have a hard time to start...some times want to start but wont catch it.

Okay, we are missing something simple... You mentioned that the check engine light doesn't come on when you turn the key on. You may have a bad bulb and they could be codes in the computer. Have you tried to scan it to check?

Also, have you checked to make sure something like the catalytic converter isn't plugged?

My Friends, Jacobandnickolas.........Finitely I found the problem! About time!!! Right? The problem was the catalytic converter was plugged out. what I did to tested! I removed the ox sensor and cranck to start, took a minute to start running but start right on!!! wow. Now I'm taken to the muffler shop and let them changed the catalytic converter.
I want to thank you for your time and over all your wisdom for all your tips and ideas, I'm really very happy and motivated with this website to help the people. My job is a technician on Diesel only on heavy duty and medium truck. Not too much gasoline jajajajajjaja.

Glad you got it fixed. I was thinking about it and that's when I mentioned the catalytic converter. Everything else was checking out good for you.

Regardless, I'm glad to help. As far as the truck, a code PO302 tells me that the number 2 cylinder has a misfire. Let me know more of the details and we'll get that one fixed too.

Odyssey 2001 again, My client (co-worker) say that van won't start in the mornings, only when the engine its cold, need to keep the starting until the battery is almost weak then starts, some times need to have the acelerator to the floor want to start but still take it time. When the engine is at the normal tempeture starts ok without any problem, all cylinders are working ok the van drive ok, very nice ride. Except that.

With that many miles, it could be something a serious as low compression. Tell me this. When was the vehicle last tuned up? Also, has anyone checked fuel pump pressure to make sure it isn't too low? Also, has the check engine light come on? It could even be a coolant temp sensor. However, that should have set the engine light.

check engine ligth never came on. But I just also scaned and showing code P0325 knock sensor.also codes for all cylinders are weak P0301,02,03,04,05,06...tomorrow I'm going to change the knock sensor and check the harnnes as well. and let you know...

Trouble codes 301, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 are all for cylinder misfires. That's every cylinder. Okay... are there any other codes? Also, have you checked fuel pressure drop off? If you have the van there, try this. In the morning, cycle the key from off to on 3 times. When it is in the on position, count to 5 and then continue with the cycling. Basically, when you first turn the key to on, the fuel pump is to prime the system and build enough pressure to start a cold engine. However, it will only prime for less than 2 seconds. If the pressure is dropping off to 0psi due to a leak, leaking injector, bad one way valve in both the filter and fuel pump... it could make it difficult to start. Once the engine is warm and has started, the pressure may take time to drop off. Thus, it starts easily. Also, pull the vacuum hose off the pressure regulator and see if there is any gas getting into it. Finally, see if you notice any black smoke from the exhaust when it starts. I will do more research and look for TSB's regarding this issue.
