auto transmission shifting at high rpm's but not all the time

Have you checked the transmission fluid level?

Did you try to check for trouble codes?

I had my mechanic scan for trouble codes and found none. So he test drove and recommended draining the transmission overnight and then using a ATF oil ROYAL PURPLE a synthetic product. WORKS GREAT!shifts smooth like new. I have always gone to dealer to get Honda ATF fluid but will switch to Royal Purple for the future, I have 165K miles on my Honda and have always drained at 20K miles
