mechanic at the dealer that a faulty intake gasket?

I have been told by the mechanic at the dealer that a 'faulty intake gasket" isn't anything to worry about. I was told by my mechanic that I need it fixed. I bought the car from a dealer...they just replaced the clutch ( but I have no proof that they actually DID replace it.) The sound has not gone away.. and well. for $6K I want a car that is not going to throw a rod on me...!Thoughts ? how bad is a faulty intake bearing?

Hello,

It is important not to let any leak go on for an extended period of time. Depending on the issue it might need to be fixed right away.
A leaking intake manifold gasket can make the engine run rough. It will impact the air fuel ratio. It can also make the engine to backfire. Which can lead to much bigger issues.
The intake gasket can be replaced without spending too much time on this vehicle, depending on your comfort level.
