a ball and socket join popped off - its located under the windscreen and is a part of the windscreen wiper assembly

ive tried greasing the join and popping it back on - its working but i wonder if it will easily pop off again

can it be easily fixed or does it need to be replaced and a mechanic

The pivot is part of the wiper regulator, the socket is plastic and is proberbly worn, if it pops off again, the reg will proberbly have to be replaced, this is tricky and best left to a mechanic unless you have better than average home skills.
