The power steering pump whines

When you shut the car off fluid comes out the vent hole on the reservoir fill cap. Have not done anything yet

try flushing the system first before replacing the pump.

It sounds like the pump is going bad. IF you steer the car with the engine off it will purge fluid from the pump, normally.
