oil change

my owners manual says that oil change for my engine 3.0L takes 4.5 quarts,but only 1/3 fill showes on the dip stick. this a taurus SE 2001

There are three 3.0L engine's for that car i need the 8th digit of your vin to get you the oil spec's.

2001 ford Taurus with 3.5L engine are you sure ?
2001 had two engines in the Taurus and both 3.0L
