I have a loud tapping noise coming from my engine is gets louder and faster when you rev up the engine.
I have replaced all the hyd. lifters. and then started the truck back up an let it run a few mins to get the oil to mover around and the noise is still there. I have now removed the spark plugs an checked to make sure there is compression by putting my finger over the spark plug hole. I did this because someone said I may have a broken connecting rod.
The odd thing is it was running fine one day and it sat for 4 days when i went to start it the battery was dead so i got a jump it cranked slow and I heard a noise (smell ping noise) like something broke then it started up and had this noise.
I do not know what to check for now PLEASE HELP
