"I have a 2001 Ford F-150 5.4 l, My pickup has had a ticking sound or almost a rattling bell noise from under the hood. I have also slowly started losing a small amount of power i have heard it could be something in the manifold or with the egr tube even."

Try this so we can eliminate some things. Remove the serp belt and start the engine to see if the noise goes away. Only run it a few seconds, just enough to see if the noise is gone.

Also, take a rubber mallet and tap on the exhaust system to make sure the inside of the catalytic converter isn't loose.
