We have just installed a rebuilt starter in a Dodge Ram 1500 Sport 4x4. Now, when we attempt to reconnect the battery at the positive terminal, there are sparks, and the starter's solenoid begins to turn even though the key isn't in the ignition. The installation has been checked and appears to be correct. Someone suggested that the wires were touching, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
