2001 Dodge Neon idling and stalling. Happens when i take my foot off the gas petal. Usually only stalls when im in reverse or parking. Idles roughly at start up it seems but once i stop at a stop light or something it idles really low, it almost feels like it wants to turn off so i hit the gas and break at the same time. I had a mechanic look at it today and he really couldnt tell me why. He tried having the error codes removed from the computer but the wont come off. Its reading a bad map sensor, but we dont know for sure because it wont reset. Can y help me?

Sounds like the battery might have been disconnected or run dead recently. If so, the Engine Computer lost its memory and has to relearn "minimum throttle" before it will know when it must be in control of idle speed. It also might not give you the normal "idle flare-up" to 1500 rpm when you start the engine. To meet the conditions for the relearn to take place, drive at highway speed with the engine warmed up, then coast for at least seven seconds without touching the brake or gas pedals.
