if my dashboard lights went out do i need a fuse of a bulb

If all your dash lights went out at once i would check the fuses. On my 1996 dodge ram the headlight switch was the culprit.

Check fuses first. If they are good, the switch can be the problem. The power to the dash lights comes from the headlight switch.
