have you checked your water pump. if its not working it will not circulate you coolant and might explain the no heat. also are the fans working? This guide can help us fix it

checked both hoses going into firewall and both are hot, asuming water pump is good. It doesnt appear that the fans are working. how can i tell if its the actual fan or the relay? will fans not working cause the no heat? i know it will cause it to overheat. any suggestions? any help would be great. thanks so far.

My fans quit working and it was a fuse under the hood but you can test them by unpluging them and running a fused wire to the battery and a ground. If it's not the fuse and the fans do work there is a relay also.I priced the relay out and it was around 75 bucks. This could explain the overheating if the fans aren't working. Mine made the check engine light come on though. As far as the not heating inside I would check fuses, does the fan blower motor work? Did it blow heat before you changed the thermostat.(thinking maybe an air pocket) Another thing is maybe the heater core is plugged but since both hoses are warm I'm not sure, sorry I can't be of more help.

Make sure that you bled the system. Based on your discription, it sounds like you have an air block. With the engine cold, loosten the return heater core hose and start the engine. If there is air in the system, it should push out and coolant through.

Lots of things can cause that. first get the vehicle warm and then feel the heater core hoses directly at the fire wall post back what you find:

is one hot and one warm?
one hot and one cold?
both hot?
neither hot?

My heater and ac recently stopped working. We went on a long rode trip and it did come on for alittle bit (ac) but then smoke came out of the vents so we turned off. It went back to not working at all. The horn also stopped working and when u hit the brake the air bag light comes on. I dont know if it has any revelance to it but it all started about the same time. Also the button to allow heat from the motor to come in will not work. When I turn it on it flashes then goes out. Do you have any idea of what the issue could be? No air comes out at all.

First, believe it or not, you need to have the computer scanned to identify why the HVAC lights are flashing. The smoke you mentioned can be a couple things. If it had a sweet smell, it may have been coolant from a leaking heater core. If it had an electrical smell, it could be wiring, the blower motor, blower motor resister, and the list goes on. As far as the other items, what you described sounds like a problem with a ground. Check for bad grounds under the dash as well as under the hood (body grounds).

Our Dodge Caravan has had a leak all day and there is virtually no heat coming out. It is very cold here but we let it warm up for at least 20 minutes at one point and it still was not hot. The engine is heating up fine and we haven't had any problem as far as it running. What could this be?

Is it your anti-freeze that's leaking? try to make sure there is fluid in the radiator after its cold, only. Its coolant circulates inside your interior and this is probably the reason for no heat, this is bad so try to have it checked for where its leaking, ok? let me know if you find it or need advice, ok?

Trying to find blend door actuators. I believe there is two. I have dual climate control so father in-law believes there should be two. The one on the driver side controls where the heat is coming from buy cannot find why passenger side has no heat and why nothing will blow from the vents.

Good evening,

There are separate actuators for each side. I attached a picture and the procedure for you to view.

Roy

The air conditioning system can be equipped with either a standard, single blend-air door actuator, or it can be equipped with dual actuators. The dual system has separate blend-air controls. This allows for separate control of the driver's side air, and the passenger side air.

1. Remove the lower left side steering column cover.

2. Remove ABS control module.
3. Remove blend-air actuator connector.

4. Remove blend-air actuator.

INSTALLATION
1. For installation, reverse the above procedures.
2. Perform the HVAC Control Calibration Diagnostic and Cool-down test. Repeating the test is necessary to clear the fault codes.

the heater does not work on 2000 dodge grand caravan, the a/c works perfect. It's more like the temp slider/setting does not work. The blower is good.

Hi:
If it's not overheating, the pump should be fine. You may need a new belt or one is loose. As far as the heater, it the t-stat is new and the controls are working, I think I would start with flushing the heater core. It may be plugged. Are both heater core hoses getting hot when the heater is on? If only one is hot, coolant isn't circulating.

Let me know if this helps.

Is there a possibility the battery was recently disconnected or run dead? On the '96s and '97s, the heater computer had to be recalibrated which was often a real frustrating job even for the professionals. I think they improved that silly quirk by '98 or '99, but there still might be a calibration issue.

Another somewhat common problem is intermittent connections on the module connector pins. In the past, GM was famous for having all kinds of intermittent computer problems while Chrysler had very little. Lately, Chrysler has been succumbing to more and more computer trouble so a defective computer is a likely suspect. The temperature door and the vent / floor / defrost doors are totally independent of each other, so the fact you're getting hot air from the heater, and that it is switching to defrost suggests both actuators are working. Sorry to say, but the computer looks like a likely culprit, but first I would ask the dealer if there is a recalibration procedure that might help.
