thermostat how would I change it?

REMOVAL

WARNING: DO NOT REMOVE PRESSURE CAP WITH THE SYSTEM NOT AND UNDER PRESSURE BECAUSE SERIOUS BURNS FROM COOLANT CAN OCCUR.

Disconnect negative cable from remote jumper terminal.
Drain cooling system.
Raise vehicle on hoist.
Disconnect electrical connectors from engine oil and power steering pressure switches.
Disconnect radiator and heater hoses from thermostat housing.




Remove thermostat housing bolts.
Remove housing, thermostat, and gasket.
INSTALLATION
Clean gasket sealing surfaces.
Install thermostat and gasket into thermostat housing. For ease of installation, install bolts in housing for thermostat and gasket retention.
Install thermostat and housing to cylinder block. Tighten bolts to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.) .
Connect heater and radiator hoses and install hose clamps.
Connect electrical connectors to engine oil and power steering pressure switches.
Lower vehicle and connect negative cable to remote jumper terminal.
Refill cooling system.

the car runs hot only way to keep it normal is with heater on full blast.. i flushd it now the heat doesnt get hot and the tmp steady rises

normally when a tstat sticks it stays stuck.check to make sure all air is out of system and both heater hoses are hot. It sounds as if you are low on coolant .

I have a 2000 LHS 3.5L. The engine is overheating, sometimes. How do I replace the thermostat?

In the chrysler lhs the thermostat is on the left side of the block under the alternator not up top under the intake here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when doing the job.

I have a 1997 Chrysler LHS. It continues to overheat. I have replaced the thermostat and the cap. There are no obvious water leaks. If I take the thermostat out, it does not overheat.

Sometime it can cause it to overheat because there is too much water flow. If it overheats, flush the radiator and see if that helps. It may be partially plugged. Also, make sure you are installing the t-stat in the right direction.
