truck ticking

I have a 2001 chevy 2500hd 6.0L, after 5 or 10 min at highway speeds it develops a tick on the drivers side. Slowing down and stopping will make it go away until I turn the truck off for a while.

Can you pinpoint the noise a little more, meaning what area of engine, take a look at the exhaust manifold on the side you hear the tick, look closely at the bolts holding the manifold on, are there any missing? Is a very common problem on that engine for the manifold bolt heads to pop off creating an exhaust leak.
