security light on my dash keeps flashing

You can try the procedure below for passlock security, to see if vehicle will start and run.

The other procedure is for radio loc, without that code, you may have to contact dealership.

my truck wouldnt start. the starter was making noise.my wife turned the key and i hit the starter with a hammer. it started up. this morning i had to use a screwdriver to start it while my wife turned the key. the security light stayed on. when i got to work i turned the truck key off. it started right back up and the security light is off. whats going on . my manual said something about a passlock.

Passlock doesn't interfere with the starter. If tapping on the starter made it start cranking, that's an indication of a bad starter.

I've been having problems with my truck. sometimes it will start fine and other times it won't start at all. the security light sometimes blinks on the dash. is this a passlock security problem? if so, how do i fix it, if not what could it be?

yes this is pass lock problem. ive been changine alot of ignition cylinders lately. you need to bring you registration, drivers license to dealer to get parts. once you replace cyl you must reprogram the new parts, its easy. let us know if your going to do this and we can walk you through reprogramming sequence.

chevy s-10 runs fine. sometime the low fuel, battery, abs lights stay on and the gas gauage doesnt work. also a security light on. it comes and goes.

check for bad body grounds. Check body control module (BCM).

i just had a new motor put in my truck after we got everything hooked up it would not fire there is a security light on the guage panel that will stay lit. it wont let any spark get to the plugs what can i do

If the security system has you locked out, the only thing you can do it have it checked by a dealer. They are the only ones that have the proper equipment to check it.

Just had ignition put in it & security light blinks & miss on #4 cylinder. Can squirt gas in intake & it works fine but misses when you stop squirting gas.

Use a gage and check fuel pressure. On cylinder #4, check fuel-- spark-- compression.

Any trouble codes for the security system?
