2001 Chevrolet S-10 fuej injection

How much fuel pressure does it have. If the injector connector is flashing a noid light, then there has to be fuel with the correct pressure.

First thing to check is the compression and then maybe stored trouble codes in the computer.

yes i did check the pressure 45psi key on and the fuel pump is new and the comp. is 120psi across all four. but like i said the injectors are not spraying i even removed the fuel rail and hooked it back up out of the intake ports and turned it over and no spray and yes i did take the rail off and removed the injectors to check for any kind of blockage so with all said what do you think is going on that i may be missing.... OK, there is your problem. The fuel pressure spec is 55-62PSI and it cannot be any lower than that. These poppet style injectors won't even run under 55PSI. You probably have a bad fuel pump.

ok even though the manual says 41-47psi for a mfi injection system I should be looking for 55psi? ...Anthony

The manual does not say that. The spec from the service manual for that car is 55-62. Whatever you are reading is not a factory service manual.

No it is not a factory manual its a HAYNES but it does say for a mfi 41-47psi key on not running and for a cmfi 58-64psi but thats would for the v6 if the manual is wrong then fine its wrong but as i said in my first post the truck was running before i replaced the head and it was running with a fuel pressure of 45psi at that time so it should run now would'nt you think......Anthony

You know, my original source was Alldata which uses factory info and is rarely wrong but I just checked Mitchell which is the competing info system and it agrees with your spec so you could be right in this case.

If you have spark, injector pulse, good fuel pressure and compression it can only leave fuel quality or injector timing. Injector timing is usually determined by the cam sensor but that should show up in stored codes. Also make sure there are no injector plugs switched around also. Make sure the injectors are receiving a solid power supply and that none of them are shorted out.

OK since there are no codes stored in the ecm I would think the cam sensor is good and i do have good voltage at the injector harness and none of the plugs are switched around so that would leave the injectors themselfs are shorted out, so could you tell me how to check for a shorted injector....Thanks Anthony

Measure the resistance of each injector. A shorted injector will have little to no resistance.

OK it took awhile before i could get to it but i checked the injectors and found the resistance to be within spec. of 12.6 so another dead end do you have any other ideas as to what to check....Thanks Anthony
