What is the problem with this car.

I recently disassembled my gauge cluster off my 2001 Z24 to fix some lights that were not working and I was using the cluster off my 2001 Z22 that I have for parts which worked perfect while I was fixing the cluster off my Z24 until I plugged the cluster from the Z24 which was still disassembled into the car the wrong way and ever since I am having problems. First the car would not start unless I had the Z24 cluster plugged in the wrong way then when I switched the cluster to the Z22 it would work perfect until I turned the car off and tried to start it and then nothing would work like the gas hand,temp hand,speed hand,and rpm hand and the day time running lights and the car would start for about 2 seconds then shut off, then I would have to plug the Z24 cluster in the wrong way to get the car running then switch it out with my Z22 cluster with the car running, after a while by switching the clusters the Z22 cluster would work and the car would run but I still had no gas,temp,speed.or rpm indicators until I turn off and start the car a few times everything would start working, I disconnected the battery overnight and the next day I tried to start the car and I had the same problem and had to plug the Z24 cluster in the same way when I plugged it in wrong way just to start the car and had to do this all over again, What could be the problem with this.
