I own a Cadillar sts 2001. I am being told I need to replace the left hub. My abs light is coming on and after taking it the dealership this is what they stated. I am trying to figure out if this is something we can do ourselfs?

The vehicle at least needs the front end lifted. Remove the wheel, brake caliper, and rotor and that exposes the hub. From there you need to be able to remove the 36mm axle nut, and make sure that the axle shaft can be moved in the splines. In some cases, corrosion builds up and it takes force, this can be your difficulty. There are three bolts behind the spindle that secure the hub to the spindle. These have a relatively shallow 13mm head, and can round off easily. There is threadlock on the bolts, some heat to the threaded side may easy removal. Push the axl in enough to thread the electrical connector through, and reverse procedure to install.
