We drop the subframe to put in a new transmissionBut we didn't know about the steering something's messed up in the Steering because it leaks in the steering wheel don't move the cars Tires nowCould have a steering knuckle come loose?

You have all kinds of problems. If you didn't unbolt the steering shaft you may have pulled the spool valve out of the rack and pinion assembly.

Most importantly you have to mark the orientation of the cross member before you remove it. It can be reinstalled to one side from where it was. That moves the lower control arms and ball joints to the side which changes "camber". Camber can be corrected on the alignment machine, but that will not address "steering axis inclination", (SAI). If that is not exactly equal on both sides, you will have miserable handling over bumpy roads that a basic alignment won't fix. SAI is a secondary alignment angle that we rarely look at unless we're looking for the cause of an unusual problem or checking the fit after a crash repair. Your alignment mechanic will check it and correct if you tell him what happened, otherwise he will likely overlook it.
