Wiring harness diagram for the engine and transmission

Hello all, i recently purchased this car and received a 2000 transmission with wiring harness and ECU for free. When i began connecting the wiring harness to the engine and automatic transmission, i noticed that just below the lower intake manifold was a sensor connection and next to that was another sensor connection coming from near the timing belt. Now i connected those, however, on my harness is an extra connection. I am unable to locate any other valve or solenoid on the engine. I am thinking it could be a knock sensor or an oxygen sensor. can anyone help me determine the changes within the wiring harness connections, 1998-2002?

The connections can be different with in that year span. Here are the engine wiring diagrams for the 2001 (below)

The harness and ECU shouldn't need to be changed. if it's a trans failure only. The 2000 ECU won't work with the 2001 engine anyway, it would take a reprogram of it to make it work.

Why are you changing the trans? Because of the way they love to fail? If so see if you can locate one of the 2005 and up units. Those have a different clutch pack and actually hold together. Acura was replacing the 99-03 units with new ones and extended the warranty as well, but the new ones they installed would fail in a couple of years.

Thank you Ken and thank you Steve!!! It looks like the missing sensor was the CKP/TDC Sensor. I have obtained another CKP Sens. however it appears I have to line up #1 piston to tdc position and remove timing belt and Ti.ing Wheel to insert the CKP/TDC Sensor...or can i just remove the belt and wheel, hoping everything remains in same position and insert sensor? Im going to see if i can find a directions....or maybe you guys can shed some light on my situation.
Steve, yes my trannt was malfunctioning and my engine took a dump....so i obtained another engine and recieved a free tranny/wire harness/ECU....hence the different year components. Imbummed to hear the ecu will not work and i have to reprogram....i guess one step at a time. As for the 05 tranny opposed to the 2000 tranny, well I just couldnt wait for one....I have to be mobile and from there i can make a purchase of a reliable transmission.
