My 2000 Volvo V70 seems to be having acceleration issues. It lurches, especially around 2000rpms. It is not as obvious at other times. If I accelerate very slowly it does not seem to do it, but when I press harder on the gas it is really obvious. If I press really hard on the gas it does it as well. Is this an fuel pump, oxygen sensor or fuel injector issue or is my trany about to croak?

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing

Does this happen from a stop or while getting ready to come to a stop? Has the ETS or CHECK ENGINE light come on as well?

No lights come on and it is worst when I am accelerating from a stop and if I give it too much gas at once. If I floor it, it's noticable, but it accelerates more evenly. If I accelerate very slowly it's not as obviuos either. Also it's not as bad when the engine is cool.
I have to be very conscious of how hard I press the gas pedal in order to minimize it. Otherwise it runs well and I seem to be getting average gas mileage

Well it is hard to determin if this is an issue with the engine or transmssion without actually driving it? What I would recommend as a first step is that you remove the elecronic throttle from the car and remove the fuse in the engine compartment for the throttle. Clean out the throttle and plate and after you are done, install the fuse and let me know what happpens.
