i have a VW jetta Vr6. while i was driving today my coolant light came on. when i got out to check it was leaking water just as fast as i could pour it in the resivour. when i looked i couldnt tell if it was coming from a hose or not. the water is leaking from the front of the engine mid way up. it alsomst looks as if there is a plug or sensor that got pushed out do to back pressure?

Do a pressure test on the cooling system and watch carefully for where the leak is coming from. Temperature sensors on the Jetta are located at the rear of the left cylinder head and at the lower left corner of the radiator.

If by "front of engine, you mean by the passenger wheel well, the leak is most likely coming from the water pump.
