My daughter's 2000 Toyota Celica isn't generating any heat. The blower's working & she had a/c working throughout this summer fine. The Temp gauge on the dash seems to respond to the engine temp ok. What other troubleshooting steps could I take to get to the root cause. There isn't any leakage of anti-freeze on her floorboard.

Did you check the coolant level? If level is good, problem may lie in stuck open thermostat.

I had this problem the heater core was plugged solid I had to flush it for an hour... all fixed!@

If the engine temp is lower than normal, replace the thermostat, Check the heater hoses are both about the same temp. If not check the heater tap and the tap controller operation.

heater is blowing cold air 90% of the time. temperature gauge is spiking to overheat randomly than back to normal 2sec later.
