My car is extremely well maintained however still burns oil.I use only the best synthetic Oil.Over the period of regular oil changes it uses(BURNS ) aprox 1 qt of oil.Otherwise this car is in excellent mechanical shape.I'm trying to avoid a costly repair.Could I live with this problem or should I fix the problem ? I realize their are probably many causes for this problem what should I do ?

How many miles do drive between oil changes? Also you will burn more synthetic oil over conventional because its thinner.

I get about 7,000 miles between oil changes and the car burns a little less than a quart .Does this suggest a major repair now or down the line ?

Check your owner's manual in the "oil change" section. Often they give info about the "acceptable" amount of oil consumption between oil changes.

From page 291 of the 2007 Camrys' owners manual:

"Maximum exceptable oil consumtion is 1.1 quart per 600 miles
(That's crazy!)
