when attempting to accelerate vehicle only moves a few feet

The car starts and idles but when you put it gear and give it gas it will not move but a few feet. It has no power. I have checked the converters are all clean. the exhaust is cleared. O2 sensors have been replaced. cleaned the EGR and the idle air valve. new coils, plugs and a new battery. I am waiting for an OBD2 code reader to come in but wondering where to go from here?

I would suspect low fuel pressure. It is possible to get enough pressure from the pump to idle the car, and then when you push the pedal and demand more fuel, you get nothing extra, and the car stumbles and putts and shuts off. You can borrow a fuel pressure test gauge from the local auto parts shop. I know that AutoZone and Advance Auto stock one for their loan-a-tool programs.

With the key turned on, and engine off, you should get between 38.4 and 44 psi of fuel pressure. With the engine idling, you should get 28.4 to 34.1 psi. Any less than these numbers and the car will not run right.

If you are getting less than that, you may just need a fuel filter. So buy it and replace it and see what happens.
