Engine lost power for few seconds

Dear sir;

I have a Subaru Outback yr 2000 . I live in Calgary and at the moment it is -20C and i had plugged in my vehicle for the whole day .

Had done Tune up at around 107497 miles ( changed the Spark plugs ) and had recently done the Oil Change ( about a month ago )

Now the problem happened tonight ( Sunday ) i drove the car for about
15mins and was waiting to yield to the left and suddenly the engine as if it lost some of its power( this happened as i was waiting to turn left ) and as soon as i turned left and accelerated the car ran good .

It happened again as i was returning Home but for a about 5 seconds

Please help me out -what could be the problem

If the check engine light came on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Also, you may want to check fuel pump pressure to make sure it is within spec. If you have the 2.5L, you may want to have the head gaskets checked if it continues.

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.

Catalytic converter.

Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.

Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.

Throttle position sensor.

Crankshaft position sensor

Knock sensor

Manifold absolute pressure sensor.

EGR Valve

Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.

Fuel contamination.

Foul/defective spark plugs.

Open spark plug wires.

Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.

Incorrect ignition timing.

Cap and rotor.


Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing
