The speedometer does not work and sometimes flickers into life and fuel guage fluctuates esp when cornering

Hi,

my mechanic was trying to instal a timimg belt into the car not realising it had already been installed. Since then the speedometer is 99% of the timie dead and the fuel guage needle fuctautes up and down especiall when I corner.

Can you help please?
