Anything is possible but your better off sticking with the DOHC engine betime you change everything over to the single cam engine it will be cheaper to stick with the DOHC engine.SO are you looking for a 2000-2002 saturn S model DOHC engine? Those are the years that will fit.Are those prices rebuilt or used engines? The engines not repairable?

I agree. Your entire operating system is for a different engine and will not operate that one.

No, that's not the issue. Our problem is that we just never know who we are dealing with on the other side. People have said stranger things than that to me and been dead serious about it.

Hello Saturntech and Wrenchtech, I need some quick and desperate help. I have a 2001 Saturn SL2 dohc that is about to throw a rod (if they still do that). Long story short, went to get an oil change, they knocked the pcv loose, oil went everywhere, my daughter was unaware and the rest is history. I have called around and a motor replacement is $1000, I know these cars are considered "throw aways" but I don't really have the kinda cash flow to either replace the motor OR throw it away. What else do "I" need to do to fix this myself besides change out the bearings? Or is there a good reference book that will tell me "exactly" what I need to do. I'm one of those females that knows just enough about motors to be dangerous but not enough to be Ms. Goodwrench. Thanks so much for your time!

You need to start a new question of your own, not hijack this person's.
