ive got a couple saturns and i need to know what saturns will interchange tranys

So you have a 2000 saturn LS1 with a manual transmission and you want to put in 1996 saturn S model manual transmission?That wouldnt even come close to fitting or working.So whats wrong with the 2000 saturn LS1 manual transmission?

I let my daughter borrow for it for a few weeks and when i got it back i drove 2 miles and I heard a funny noise. i pulled over and everywhere gear grinds when i try to accelerate. do you know what years will fit it?

I think 2000-2002 LS model with a 2.2L engine would be a safe bet and possibly a 2003 but call the dealer.I always checked with my parts department when i worked for a dealer for compatiablity.
