When I turn the key to accessories a timer turns on with a oil can next to it and an oil level gauge next to that. What is this for?

Those lines you see are oil level lines.The distance from bottom to top is approx 1.5 quarts.Its controlled by time and engine temp.The engine holds approx 10 qts,9 qts on an oil change.When you get to the bottom line add approx a qt.
