when driving at any speed when I'm approximately between 1800 rpms & 3000 my car start to "slip" or slightly jerk, I watched then rpm gage and it will jerk down with the motion of the car. I recently just got back from a trip and while I was gone my grandfather took the car to get it fixed (I had a faulty abs sensor that was cause my car to "lose traction", made my brake pedal pulse at random times) so I recently just got that fixed, got a new muffler & brakes all around & that's all the work he told me was done. He says that I need a new exhaust, that's it's pretty old & rusted. I've had a problem since about January where at about 2000 rpms my exhaust will vibrate & I can feel it and hear it vibrating my whole middle consul. Also at around the 2000 rpm I hear a grinding noise, almost like a metal can or chain which has been going on since I got the car (August 2014) I know this car has a timing chain and not a belt but I was told to not worry about it but now with my car jerking I'm very concerned and starting to think the noise, vibrating & jerking might all be related since they always happen at around 2000 rpms, after I pass the 3000 mark the car runs fine. The jerking motion just started, ever since I got the car back & all the problems I had listed above were taken care of it has been doing this & I've never had it jerk like this before. I'm not the most knowledgable person about cars but I'm pretty good at figuring out what's wrong & looking into to things so if anyone could give me any idea of what might be going on it would be wonderful. I'm really concerned and don't want my poor little car to die just yet!

It sounds like the engine needs a tune up, the jerking is the engine misfiring, have you had that done recently?
