Why wont it show any codes?

it hesitates when i am at a stoplight and start to take off i just had the engine replaced.

It doesn't show any because there aren't any. the computer isn't a magic "fix all". It merely records situations that it has been programmed to monitor. It's going to require some old fashioned manual troubleshooting by analyzing the sensor and scan tool data.
