2000 Pontiac Grand Prix Programming remote

Hi. Your directions are the same I am using and it does say to open any door.
One question is they say "Chime" but I'm getting more of a chirp as the seatbelt light flashes. After I cycle the key, the seatbelt light flashes and chirps a total of 6 times, three 2 chirp cycles. At this point if I open a door like the directions state I get one more chirp. Am I in pro ramming mode at this point? Just cant get it to program.

it may have a problem with the receiver and a scanner might need to be used to fix it.if you have any codes stored in body module I don't think it will do this correctly.if it won't program have a local pro hook up his scanner see if there is any codes or why it won't program. also instructions say it should chirp/chime 3 o r 4 times not 2 so yours may need the scanner

Thanks for the quick responses. I brought into dealer and they also could not program using scanner tool. I believe this problem started when I replaced the radio with an after market one. Could I have accidentally knocked something loose? Do you know if the receiver wires are tied into the radio harness at all? The red security light sill flashes when car is locked so that is still getting power. Thanks again for the help.

no but you may have hooked up the wrong wire, there are adapters for this stuff so all youneed do is plug and play.

I did use a radio harness adapter.
Today I took the dash off and got to the Wireless receiver to check it out..
FCCID ABO0232R GM PART 10418726. All wires are good and connected. I'eve purchased a used receiver on eBay, should arrive in a couple days, In the mean time I experimented.Hope I didn't mess things up more. When I enter programming mode I get two chirps followed by two chirps, followed by two chirps. I think this is possibly error codes from the BCM? I then disconnected the wireless receiver and tried to enter programming mode again to see if I got the same chirps. I didn't. Instead, I got two chirps followed by eight chirps followed by two chirps followed by eight chirps followed by two chirp followed by eight. A new error code? I then reconnected the receiver and am still getting the 2 x 8, 2 x 8, 2 x 8 chirps. I cannot find any info online what these chirping codes mean. Maybe your expertise can?
I'eve disconnected the battery and am going to leave it overnight to see if It will clear the error codes? Does this clear the BCM or will I need someone with a scanner tool to clear it? I'm hoping, clearing the error code and getting a "working receiver" will solve my problems.

you can't clear a bcm a scanner has to do that and the chirps meanit was disconnected. I think you should have apro look at this to find the problem.
