overfilled the oil during a oil change by about 2 qts

I over filled the oil during a recent oil change by about 2 qts. Did not realize it and drove about 25 miles. My car started to overheat. I shut off the engine and waited for it to cool home and was able to get t home. I drained the oil to correct level. but it is still overheating. suggestions? (oil is not milky...when drained...it is still correct color) Could I have ruined my thermostat?

Replaced the thermostat... no luck. Still overheating. Coolant line is hard as a rock...and not sure why. Suggestions?

overheating how?overfilling the oil will only blow your oil seals.is it leaking?if cooolant hoses are hard they will need to be replaced.remove the cap watch the coolant and feel the upper hose while warming up.when you feel the upper hose getting hot the stat is opening.rev the throttle and watch the coolant as you rev it up you will see the coolant start to curculate quickly in the radiator.look at the radiator tubes there should no build up of anything in the radiator tubes.then make sure the cooling fans come on next.we can start here.ty for using 2carpros

Also feel the radiator for cold spot indicating a restriction-Have you try bleeding the cooling system
