door locking mechanism is stuck in lock position with front door open

the door panel will have to be removed to acess the latch to get the car open. not something you should try at home.

If I am reading this right, the jaws are just stuck in the lock position and you can't close the door. If that is the case, stick a screwdriver behind the jaws at the end of the door. With the other hand pull the door handle open and then push the jaws open.

if you manually push the door lock button to open will it open/? does it click back and forth using the locking ****? if the acuator is bad u should be able to open it manually.
