my 2000 nissan xterra is not holding an idle as the temp gauge climbs to operating temp, it has a code pointing to the map sensor, I've also read the iac valve may also be at fault, how can i clean these, before replacing them and where are they located? ive not been driving the car much since i have no experience repairing drum back brakes and no garage to attempt to now-thanks

Clean/Test the idle air control valve-auxillary air control and throttle position sensor-also check PCV and EGR valves
