2000 Nissan Altima Accelerator doesn't work.

I just bought this used card and drove it almost 200 miles home. I had no issues driving home, and I stopped several times along the way. After getting home, I drove it a mile down the road. When I was almost home, the accelerator quit working. I literally had to coast into my driveway. Now it will start, but when I press the gas nothing happens. There is no tension, and it does not rev at all. Please help.
