i have a 2000 nissan xterra i drove it about 1 hour yesterday then parked it when i hop in in today and start it its chugging like hell no check engine light on it spits and sputters wants to die when i give it gas

cant get a machanic to hook give me a diognaoustic becuse no light is on

plz help with this its got 157000 miles on it

Could be caused by one of the following below

Oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converter.
Fuel injectors dirty/sticking.
Mass airflow sensor/Airflow meter.
Throttle position sensor.
Crankshaft position sensor
Knock sensor
Manifold absolute pressure sensor.
EGR Valve
Fuel pressure regulator leaking or defective fuel pump.
Fuel contamination.
Foul/defective spark plugs.
Open spark plug wires.
Ignition coil/Coil packs defective.
Incorrect ignition timing.
Cap and rotor.

Note:If it doesn't apply disregard it and keep testing.
