My 2000 Mirage DE will not hold a charge. I have replaced the battery and it worked fine for a couple of hours, then went completely dead. I'm guessing it's the alternator. How do I replace it myself? I have basic mechanical knowledge, and because I can't afford to pay someone, I need to do it on my own.

You don't replace components without testing/diagnosing if that is the cause.
