Hold light

Hi, my car shows a hold light on the dashboard while the hold button is not pressed. when i try to press the hold button the light does not go off. while driving the car probably when changing to gear two the car engine vibrates as if the mountings are out of order, but the mountings are all new. what irritates me most is how the car vibrates while changing gear. Help please!
